The Things Kids Think Are Fun!!!

Today my kids thought it would be fun to stuff their shirts with pillows and jump around with eachother on the trampoline. You just never can tell what the kids will come up with....at least they were pillows, could have been worse!

Mother's Day

It was a wonderful day. Very low key and relaxed...which is something not easy to come by in our home. We celebrated the day with my sweet Mother, had lunch together and enjoyed our time with our family. Hunter had his Superbowl Championship Flag Football game late afternoon and we were thrilled they came away with a win!

Festivities were kept to a minimum and I got to enjoy time with my Mom and with my sweet children. Bo and the kids are the best!!! Chandler insisted in having a photo of me with the baby not shown in the group photo...so here is a rare photo of me...sporting the tummy!
Probably won't see too many of those around!!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day or day with your Mother!

Love to all,

Another Graduate.....

Weston graduated from preschool and is headed to Kindergarten after the summer vacation. I cannot believe that he is headed to the big elementary school. He is very excited and I love that his big brothers will both be there with him for his first year.

Weston's graduation was great! He recited a bible verse in front of the crowd and sang many wonderful songs. He had the letter "J" "Jesus said unto them, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one shall come unto the Father by me." John 14:6
I was very proud of him!

May 2nd ~Sweet Chandler Turns 8!!!

Wow! Chandler turns 8! Where did those 8 years go? It truly goes by in the blink of an eye. Even more unbelievable is that Hunter is 10! Poor Hunter, I have been working on a special something to post to the blog about his turning 10 in December...and well....he is still waiting. I must and will get it finished promptly! Don't worry Hunter...your sister's bday hasn't made it up here yet either....:)

However, in an effort to stay current...I am going to go ahead with Chandler....after all...it is his day! Bo and I discuss how it is so interesting to basically parent all our children the same and yet they are all so different. Their innate...genetic traits are going to shine through regardless of what or how you teach them.

Chandler has always been our quiet, soft spoken child. He joins Hunter in his sensitivity yet, not quite as emotional as his big brother. (Guess Hunter gets that from me.) He is guilty of getting an abundant amount of pleasure out of playing pranks on Weston and treats Faith like the "princess" he has told her she is ...since the day she was born.

We all recognize what a genetic clone he is of his Father and we all have giggled at all their similar looks, mannerisms, and their ability to charm a crowd. I am amazed at their uncanny love of the outdoors, the joy he gains from reeling in a fish and the sheer comfort and contentment he gets from being on a wide open piece of land. I think he gets his dare devil desires and certainly his stubbornness from both of us. Unlike his Father though, he is an animal lover as big as all outdoors, his biggest are horses and dogs.

On May 2nd, 2001 we were blessed with our second son. There are so many things I love about Chandler. I love his name, Chandler Burke.... after our dear friend "Brant Chandler" and Burke from his Great Grandfather "Grandad" ...who passed away while I was pregnant with Chandler. Grandad was a wonderful man whom we all dearly loved and I know he would have loved Chandler. I love his chocolate eyes that go on forever, his brown skin and his father's looks. I love his contagious laughter and how he looks like he might laugh until he bursts open....particularly if he is enjoying a prank. The way he snuggles on my lap and never passes up a hug or a smooch from his sister. His sweetness and tenderness and love of crazy colored shoes.

I love that Chandler loves to be at home more than anything...except being in the country.

He has brought us so much laughter and joy and tonight I will pray and extra prayer of thankfulness.....because when I first saw his little face...I only had an inkling of the endless blessing he would be to our family....

Happy Birthday our sweet Chandler....what a great day this is!!!

Love to all,

J
